You can mirror deformer
weights, either from one surface to another, or within the same
surface. You can also mirror deformer weights on selected components
of the surface.
Similar to mirroring
skin weights, note the following for best results when mirroring
deformer weights:
- The surface should be centered on the
global axis, or at least aligned along the axes you want to mirror
about.
- The surface should be in a pose that
is symmetrical across the mirror-plane.
To mirror deformer weights
- Do one of the following:
- To mirror deformer weights on the entire
surface, select the surface.
- To mirror deformer weights on selected
components, position the pointer over the surface, -click
and select Control Vertex or Vertex.
Select the components on the side from which you want to mirror
and the components on the side to be mirrored to.
- From the main menu bar, select
Edit Deformers > Mirror Deformer Weights > .
- Set the options you want in the Mirror
Deformer Weights Options that appear.
- Click Mirror.
