If you are not using the default Showcase web root directory (My Documents\Autodesk Showcase 2012\WebRoot), set the Showcase_WEB_ROOT environment variable to the directory you are using.
If you are not using the default Showcase port number (5555), set the Showcase_WEB_PORT environment variable to the one you are using.
NoteFor more information about Showcase environment variables, see Environment Variables.

Copy the extras\Interactive\MessageByLabelsCustom.py file to the directory where your user preferences are stored (usually My Documents\Autodesk Showcase 2012).
Start Showcase. The Web server will start automatically.
Test the connection to the server on the same computer that Showcase is running: http://localhost:5555/filename.html, where filename.html is the name of your custom interface file. If you are using the provided ajax.html file, replace filename.html with ajax.html.
