The XGen Window toolbar provides access to frequently used functions. These options are also available from the XGen Shelf.
Opens the XGen Window which lets you create and edit XGen Descriptions and Collections. All attributes settings for primitive appearance, placement, behavior, previewing, and rendering can be set in the XGen Window.
Opens the Create XGen Description window which lets you create new Collections and Descriptions.
Click this to display primitives generated by the current attribute settings of Descriptions. Displaying a preview in the Maya scene view after modifying primitive attributes and before you render is part of a typical XGen workflow. You can select from the following Preview options:
Clears the display of the primitive generation. You can select from the following Clear Preview options:
Opens the Create XGen Description window which lets you create new Collections and Descriptions.
Lets you change which faces are bound to patches for the selected Description. See Bind Patches.
Toggles the Guide Tool. Use this tool to add guides to the surface of the geometry and to move guides on the surface.
You can a guide in the scene view to access options to further work with guides, including moving and copying. The Utilities tab has a number or options that you can use to manipulate guide.
Adds mirrored versions of the selected guides to the opposite side (along the x-axis) of the geometry. Use this option to quickly populate the geometry with mirrored placement and shape selected guides.
Enables primitive selection. Use this option to select individual primitives in your scene.
