Mesh Cut

Use this modifier to split primitives at the point they intersect a polygon mesh.

Mesh Cut Modifier

Mask

Controls the strength of the modifier effect. You can use Mask to load a map that specifies how areas of the mesh surface are affected by the modifier.

Mesh File

Specifies the Alembic file that contains the geometry that splines are cut against.

Tests Per Prim

Sets the number of equal length segments the splines are cut to when testing for polygon intersection.

Offset

Specifies an offset value for the cut.

Cut Type

Specifies what you want to do with spline primitive after it has been cut.

Select Live Cut to use the version of the mesh that is in the scene, or Use Baked Cut to use the cut information from an XPD file.

Bake Options

Mode

Live

Applies the Modifier effect directly to the primitive. Use this option if you want to edit the effect further.

Baked

Saves the modified primitives to an XPD file, which can be read when previewing or rendering. Use this option if you do want to edit the effect.

Bake Dir

Specifies the directory in which you want to save the XPD file.

Click Bake Data to save the XPD file. See for XGen files for information about XPD files.
