Default Paths

Stage 1

Sets the default paths for all libraries that you can access from Stage 1: Assemble of Face Robot:

  • Heads Library: Separate head meshes

  • Parts Library: Separate face parts, such as eyeball, teeth, and tongue meshes

  • Actor Library: Completed Face Robot characters that include all parts

  • Custom Library: Any models that you want to use in Face Robot

  • DNA Type Library: Files that determine whether the head is symmetrical or asymmetrical — see Selecting a DNA Type [Face Robot].

Stage 5

Sets the default paths for all libraries that you can access from Stage 5: Act of Face Robot:

Reset Paths to Default

Clears all paths so that they will use the default setting, which is the software installation path.

Other Options

Use Mixer Poses

A pose is static source which contains no animation and is saved in a normalized format so that it can be applied to any solved head. If you select this option, you can save the pose presets you create in an action source, which allows you to use the animation mixer.

See Applying and Creating Poses [Face Robot] for more information.

Stabilize Motion on Retargeting

When you apply the mocap data in Face Robot, it uses its own stabilization algorithms in an attempt to recreate that work. Because certain adjustments are made to the motion in Face Robot with this algorithm, small artifacts may be introduced.

If you want to keep the stabilized mocap data intact, make sure to turn off this option before you apply the mocap data and retarget it.

See Using Extracted Motion Data (Stabilized Mocap) [Face Robot] for more information.
