Edit the phonemes used for lip syncing with Face Robot.

To display:

In the lip sync view, select one or more phoneme clips, then right-click on one of them and choose Edit.

For more information, see Adjusting the Phonemes [Face Robot].

Phoneme

Select a phoneme from the list to assign it to the currently selected phonemes on the track in the lip sync view.

See Switching Phonemes and Variations [Face Robot] for more information.

Variation

Select a viseme variation from the list to assign it to the currently selected phonemes on the track in the lip sync view.

See Switching Phonemes and Variations [Face Robot] for more information.

Phoneme Blending

Weight

The weight of the lip sync animation (viseme poses) used for the selected phonemes.

Select a preset value from the parameter's list, or enter a value in its text box.

The values can be between 0 and 2. If this value is 1.0, the phoneme uses 100% of the Weight Scale Factor value set for each of the channels (Lips, Jaw, Tongue) in the Speech Blend Property Editor. Setting the weight per phoneme sets the weight of all three mouth channels at once (that is, you cannot set each channel's weight separately per phoneme).

See Weighting the Lips, Jaw, and Tongue Per Phoneme [Face Robot] for more information.

In Falloff

The falloff value for the lip sync animation Weight value. This controls how smoothly the viseme poses ease into each selected phoneme.

Select a preset value from the parameter's list, or enter a value in its text box. The In Falloff and Out Falloff values can be in a range of -1 to 1. At a value of 0, a uniform falloff is used.

  • A negative falloff value makes the corrective shape ease in over a larger area so it blends in sooner and more gradually.

  • A positive falloff value makes the corrective shape ease in over a smaller area so it blends in later and more abruptly.

See Weighting the Lips, Jaw, and Tongue Per Phoneme [Face Robot] for more information.

Out Falloff

The falloff value for the lip sync animation Weight value. This controls how smoothly the viseme poses ease out of each selected phoneme.

The values and effects are the same as for In Falloff (above) except that this is for the viseme poses easing out of each selected phoneme.

Shape Blending

Weight

The weight of the corrective shapes created for the selected phonemes.

Select a preset value from the parameter's list, or enter a value in its text box.

The values can be between 0 and 2. If this value is 1.0, the phoneme uses 100% of the Shape Weight value set for the corrective shapes in the Speech Blend Property Editor.

See Blending in Corrective Shapes Per Phoneme [Face Robot] for more information.

In Falloff

The falloff value for the corrective shape Weight value. This controls how smoothly the corrective shapes ease into each selected phoneme.

See Blending in Corrective Shapes Per Phoneme [Face Robot] for more information.

Out Falloff

The falloff value for the corrective shape Weight value. This controls how smoothly the corrective shapes ease out of each selected phoneme.

The values and effects are the same as for In Falloff (above) except that this is for the shapes easing out.

Blend Overlap Adjustment

In

The blend value of the lip sync animation at the start of each selected phoneme.

This value is applied as a scale factor "on top" of the global Blend values in the Speech Blend Property Editor, which are applied first.

Select a preset value from the parameter's list, or enter a value in its text box.

The values can be between 0.25 to 2.5. If this value is 1.0, the phoneme uses 100% of the global Blend Before value in the Speech Blend Property Editor.

See Tweaking the Blend In and Out Values Per Phoneme [Face Robot] for more information.

Out

The blend value of the lip sync animation at the end of each selected phoneme. See the Blend Overlap Adjustment In parameter above for a description.

The values can be between 0.25 to 2.5. If this value is 1.0, the phoneme uses 100% of the global Blend After value in the Speech Blend Property Editor.

Previous

Moves to the phoneme that is to the left of the selected one on the track in the lip sync view.

Next

Moves to the phoneme that is to the right of the selected one on the track in the lip sync view.
