Once you have a head model with shapes in your scene, you can define facial expressions using the Character Face asset. Whether
you need to define Generic expressions, Custom expressions, or both, depends on whether you are using motion data (and an
Actor Face) or voice recognition data (Voice device).
The workflow for defining expressions can be summarized in the following steps:
- Add the shapes of the head model to the Character Face. See Adding shapes to a Character Face.
- Depending on how you plan to animate your character’s face, do one of the following:
- If you are planning to animate the head model with an audio source such as voice recognition, define custom expressions. See
Defining a custom expression. You will need to create custom expressions for each phoneme using the shapes on your head model.
- If you plan to animate the head model with motion capture, define the Generic expressions using the shapes on your head model.
