Replacing Sources in the Clip History
 
 
 

You can replace sources only on clips with history that are in the Record Area. The sources you swap must be of the same resolution and bit depth.

Replacing the source clip in clip history allows you to:

If the new source is longer than the original source, the new source is shortened to fit the duration of the original source. If the new source is shorter that the original, the last frame of the new source is repeated to the end of the segment.

NoteThe hotkey to switch between hermite and straight lines in the clip history view is now Shift+Ctrl-click.

To replace sources in the clip history:

  1. Select a clip with history in the Record Area.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select either History (Ctrl+F5) or Large History (Ctrl+Shift+F5) from the View Modes box in the Record Area.
    • Double-click the H icon on the clip in the Source Area.
  3. Select an option from the History View box.
    Select: To view:
    Schematic view Nodes that represent operations performed on the clip.
    List view A list of operations performed on the clip.
  4. Do one of the following:
    Do this: To swap:
    Double-click a source The original source with another.
    Press Ctrl and double-click a module All of the sources used in a module.

    The cursor becomes a coloured arrow to indicate what type of source you can select.

    Use: To select:
    Red arrow The front clip. Only this arrow appears if you selected a source clip and not a node.
    Green arrow The back clip.
    Blue arrow The matte clip.
  5. Click the source clips you want to swap in to the clip history.
  6. If you loaded clips into a module, edit the settings as needed and do one of the following:
    • To save and process your changes, select Return (Tilde) from the Exit Options box.
    • To exit without saving your changes, select Cancel (Ctrl+Tilde) from the Exit Options box, and then confirm.
