For projects that use large files (such as 2K Cineon® files), you should render half-resolution (1K) proxies of all the shots in the timeline before you begin colour grading. Proxies are used to reduce processing time when interaction is slow, such as when you apply several secondaries to a shot. See Generating and Viewing Proxies.
