Matching Grain between Clips
Adding Grain with a Matte
Adjusting the Grain Size
You
can adjust the grain size if the grain match is not quite what you
want. When you adjust the grain size, especially when trying to
match grain, look at an area of intermediate brightness. The grain
in dark areas sometimes appears larger than in bright areas because
it is more difficult to distinguish between dark pixels.
To
adjust the grain size:
- To
adjust the radius of the grain along the X-axis, drag the RGB X
Radius sliders:
- Enable
Proportional and drag the RGB Gain sliders to add grain proportionately
to the R, G, and B channels.
- Disable
Proportional and adjust the R, G, and B channels independently to
fine-tune the grain radius.
- To
adjust the radius of the grain along the Y-axis, drag the RGB Y
Radius sliders:
- With
Proportional enabled, drag the RGB Gain sliders to add grain proportionately
to the R, G, and B channels.
- Disable
Proportional and then adjust the R, G, and B channels independently
to fine-tune the grain radius.
- When
you are satisfied with the result, click Process to add grain to
the clip or continue building
your processing pipeline in Batch.
