The HumanIK window
includes the following menus:
Show/Hide menu
Lets you toggle the display
of each component of the selected character. Select from the following
options:
- Whole Rig

Show or hide both IK
and FK objects.

and bone objects for the selected character.

Selects the joint objects.
- Geometry

Selects the character
mesh.
- HIK-PropertySet

Selects the retargeting
HIKProperty2State node and displays advanced retargeting attributes
in the Attribute Editor. These settings
are for advanced users who want to adjust specific HIK solver parameters.
- HIK-Character

Selects the HIK character
node.
Retarget menu
Select Retarget Settings
node
Selects the retargeting
HIKProperty2State node and displays advanced retargeting attributes
in the Attribute Editor or Channel
Box. The main attributes you want to adjust for HIK retargeting
are listed under the Retarget Specific and Reach headings.

NoteThe Property2State
node also includes many other HIK solver attributes such as Solving and Floor
Contact that do not apply to the retargeting process. Those
attributes are beyond the scope of this documentation.
Select Retargeter
Selects the HIKRetargeter
node in the Attribute Editor.
Control Rig menu
- Go to Stance Pose

Sets the Control Rig
to its default T-stance pose.
- Select Control Rig
-
Selects the Control Rig
for the current character.
- Look and Feel
-
Set whether the Control
Rig objects (IK and FK objects) use the look and feel of MotionBuilder or
Maya. MotionBuilder rigs have semi-transparent blue, red, and yellow
markers on a character model’s joints, and Maya Control Rig objects
display as wireframe circles.
Bake menu
- Bake To Skeleton
-
Bakes the retargeted
animation to the skeleton (joint objects) and deletes the Control
Rig (if your character has one.) Select this option when you are
finished adjusting the retargeted animation.
- Bake To Control Rig
-
Bakes the retargeted
animation to the Control Rig objects. The Control Rig objects receive
one keyframe for each frame of the retargeted animation.
Select this option if
you want to continue adjusting the retargeted animation, but you
no longer need the source character in your scene.
Package menu
- Current Character
-
Packages the current
character and its related nodes into one asset node. (See
Asset overview for
more information.)
- Current Character Retargeters
-
Packages the retargeting
nodes for the current character into one asset node.
- All Characters
-
Packages all HIK characters
in the scene into one asset node.
- All Character Retargeters
-
Packages the retargeting
nodes for all HIK characters in the scene into one asset node.
