Before
you create the FBIK effectors for your biped character, make sure
your character is in a pose that will produce the best FBIK results.
- For a biped, position
your character in a “T” pose (also known as the T-stance) facing
down the +Z-axis. Position the character’s feet straight forward,
hands flat with palms facing downward, and thumbs pointing down
the +X-axis. The pose does not need to be an exact T-stance, but
a close approximation.
- For a quadruped, position
your character to face down the +Z-axis with its paws/hooves pointing
downwards with all their toes fully-extended towards the floor (not
flat on the ground). If your character has a longer neck (like that
of a camel or giraffe), extend the neck (for example, as if the
giraffe is reaching for a leaf) and point it down the +Z-axis.
