Change the size of a fluid container

To change the size of a fluid container

  1. Select the fluid container.
  2. In the Container Properties section of the fluidShape Attribute Editor, change the Size attribute.
    Tip
    • Make the size proportional to the grid resolution, even if you do not use any grids to define property values (you use all gradient style values). For example, if the size is 10.0 5.0 2.0, then a valid resolution would be 40 20 8. If the size is not proportional to the resolution, then the quality will be higher looking down one axis than another.
    • A 2D fluid with a depth (Z Size) of 0 will not render as a volume, but it might do something reasonable as a height field (see Use Height Field) or surface render (see Surface Render).

To scale a fluid container

  1. Select the fluid container.
  2. Do one of the following:

To extend a fluid container

  1. Select the fluid container.
  2. Select Fluid Effects > Extend Fluid > or click .

The Extend Fluid Options window appears.

  3. In the appropriate fields, enter the number of voxels by which you want to extend the container in each direction and click Apply and Close.
TipYou can shorten the fluid container boundaries by using negative numbers.
