To use external forces with nCloth

nCloth reacts to Maya dynamic forces. You can add these external forces to your scene to influence the behavior of your nCloth objects.

To use a 2D or 3D fluid as an external force with nCloth

  1. Select the nCloth object that you want to influence with Fluid Effects.
  2. In the Attribute Editor, select the nucleus tab.
  3. In the Gravity and Wind section, turn off the selected nCloth’s Gravity by setting its value to 0.0.
  4. Select the nCloth and then -select 2D or 3D fluid.
  5. Select Fields > Affect Selected Object(s).

    The 2D or 3D fluid will now affect your nCloth.
