The
following is a list of known limitations for this version of the Maya FBX Plug-in:
Animations for MotionBuilder camera's
field of view property which reside on layers are merged onto the
base animation layer when you import into Maya.
Memory issues can occur when you use
scenes with a large polygon count. If these problems occur, keep
your scene minimal and avoid excessive polygon counts.
The plug-in converts Photometric lights
to Standard lights but they lose
any Photometric-specific values.
The Maya FBX Plug-in does not export subdivision
surfaces.
For improved interoperability, the plug-in
converts default “auto” key types on export to ensure curve fidelity
in the destination application.
