The following tables list 3ds Max lights and how the plug-in treats them when they are exported to the FBX file format and reimported into 3ds Max:

Standard lights

In 3ds Max When imported back into 3ds Max:
Omni Omni light
Free Directional Free Directional light
Targeted Directional Free Directional light
Free Spot Free Spot
Targeted Spot Target Spot.
Skylight Null. The Target is exported as a null.
mr Area Spot Spot
mr Area Omni Omni

Photometric lights
