Hide or show the mask color or selection marquee; change the mask color
By default masked regions for mask layers are displayed in coral red. You can customize the mask display color and opacity
for mask layers.
You may prefer not to see mask display colors while sketching. In this case, you can turn off the display of these colors
and the mask will remain active.
To change the mask display color and opacity for mask layers
- From the window, choose , or click the icon at the bottom of the .
- Click the to open the .

To change the color for the selection marquee, click the to open the .
- In the , do any of the following to select a color:
- Pick a color model and adjust the sliders, or enter numeric values.
- Click in the color wheel or triangle, or pick a color from the Most Recent Colors swatch.
- Click in the .
- Click in the .
- Click the icon (eye dropper) and then click anywhere on your screen to grab that color.
Tip
To change the colors in the , set the current color (for example, using the RGB or HSV sliders) and then click a corner square in the .
Tip
To store the current color in the , drag the current color swatch to a square.
The updates with the new color. The in the window also updates.
- To change the mask display opacity for mask layers, select the value, type a new opacity value and press (Windows) or (Mac).
Note
To interactively adjust the opacity value, click and drag the opacity slider.
To hide the mask display color
In the window, click the icon for the mask layer.
To show the mask display color
In the window, click the icon for the mask layer.
