Change the transparency of objects

Adjust the transparency level of different types of objects in the view windows.

Sometimes the display of some data needs to be toned down a little: you still want to see it, but don’t want it interfering with other parts of the model or scene.

You can change the transparency level of all controls (CVs, edit points, etc.), curves (and curves on surface), surfaces, meshes, locators and visual sections, and canvases, by using the sliders in either the WindowDisplay > Transparency option box, or the Control Panel.

  1. Choose WindowDisplay > Transparency .
  2. In the option box, adjust the sliders for the types of objects you wish to fade. 0.0000 is fully opaque; 1.0000 is fully transparent.

Transparency is achieved by blending the object color into the background color.

The values in the Control Panel update to match the current transparency levels.

    Note

Transparency can also be adjusted through the Transparency section of the Modeling or Paint Control Panel, without opening the option window.
