To keep your different work projects separate, you can organize them into Alias projects. For each new project, Alias creates a separate directory, where it stores all the files for that project.
Start a new project
- Create or open the file you want to make the basis of the new project.
- Choose File > Save As.
- In the drop-down menu, choose .
- Use the dialog box to specify a name for the file, then click .
Switch to a different project
- Choose File > Open (and if you are using the Alias browser, click the button).
- In the (Windows) or (Mac) drop-down menu, choose .
- Click the name of the project directory to select it.
- In the drop-down menu, choose (Windows), or click the button (Mac).
Add a frequently used location to the Go menu (Windows and Alias file browsers only)
- Choose File > Open (and if you are using the Alias browser, click the button).
- Locate the directory you want to add to the menu.
- In the Windows Open dialog box, click the arrow button next to the menu and choose an option from the menu.
- In the Alias file browser, open the pop-up menu and choose from the pop-up menu.
What if...?
The Windows style browser does not appear?
Your version of Alias may be customized to use the Alias browser instead.
- Choose Preferences > General Preferences❒.
- Choose on the left side of the option window.
