Use marking menus

Marking menus appear when you hold the and (Windows) or and (Mac) keys and hold a mouse button. Marking menus provide the fastest method for choosing tools.

Choose a tool from a marking menu

Hold + (Windows) or + (Mac).
With the keys held down, press and hold a mouse button.
The mouse button marking menu appears at the location of the mouse pointer.
Keep the mouse button held down and drag out toward a tool name. A thick black line shows the direction of the mouse pointer.
Release the mouse button to choose the highlighted tool.
