User-defined mouse sensitivity for CV movement

Mouse sensitivity refers to the speed of an object’s movement on the screen relative to the mouse (cursor) movement.

We have added a Mouse Sensitivity slider to the Move CV tool in the Control Panel. The slider ranges in values from 1 to 100. This number represents the ratio between the cursor movement and the CV movement. Hence the default of 1 means that a CV moves the same distance on the screen as the mouse cursor. A value of 2 means that the CV moves half the distance of the cursor on the screen. The higher the sensitivity value, the smaller the effect that the mouse movement has on the CVs. Values larger than 100 can be typed in the number field.

NotePreviously, mouse sensitivity was dependent upon the position of the camera relative to the object, causing an increased sensitivity for control points closer to the camera.

Incremental movement (steps)

The Step size option in the Move CV tool does not apply to moving a CV with the mouse anymore (since this can now be adjusted with the Mouse Sensitivity slider - see above).

However, when clicking and releasing the mouse in a given location, the CV now jumps by the chosen step size (in linear units) in the direction of the mouse click.

NoteAs before, the arrow keys also apply the step size. The Step size box must be checked for the value in the field below to apply.

Adjustable pick box

To help you select CVs from within the Move CV tool, we have added a new option called Pick Box Size. The default size is 4, meaning a pick box (selection area) that is 4 pixels wide by 4 pixels high, centered on the CV. Clicking anywhere within this box will select the CV.

You can use the slider to increase the size of the pick box from 4 to 32 pixels, making CVs easier to pick. The drawing of the cursor remains unchanged.

CV Slide controls

The SLIDE mode in the Move CV tool now displays larger arrows with black outlines, which are located further away from the CV at the center. This makes the arrows easier to see and select.
