Force Controller Property Editor

Determines the effect of a force on a rigid body.

To apply: Select an object and choose Create Rigid Body Active or Passive Rigid Body from the Simulate toolbar.

To redisplay: Select the rigid body and choose Modify Rigid Body Edit Rigid Body from the Simulate toolbar. You can also click the rigid body's Force Controller icon in the explorer.

For more information, see Applying Forces to Rigid Bodies [ Simulation and Effects].

Forces Active

Toggles the activeness of the force on the rigid-body object.

Force Application

Where the force is applied on the rigid-body object:

  • Center of mass applies force to the location of the object's center of mass. This prevents the object from spinning because no torque is imparted.

  • Vertices applies force at each vertex of polygonal objects or at each control vertex of NURBS surfaces. This is the slowest but most accurate choice.

  • Bounding box applies force to the eight corners of the rigid body's bounding box. To see the object's bounding box, select Shading > Bounding Box from the viewport menu.
