Lets you edit the original animation stored in the action source or in an animation layer source.
For more information, see Modifying Action Sources and Creating Animation Layers.
To display this property editor, do any of the following:
Right-click on an action clip, compound action clip, or animation layer clip in the animation mixer and choose Source.
In an explorer, click the action source or animation layer source node's icon in the model's Mixer > Sources > Animation folder, or under Sources > Animation in the Sources/Clips scope in the explorer.
Select an action or animation layer clip in the animation mixer and press Enter, or right-click on either type of clip and choose Clip Properties, or click the clip node's icon in the model's Mixer > Tracks > Animation > Track name > Clip List folder. Then click the tab with the source's name in the property editor that appears - see Clip Source Property Page below.
The following buttons and table appear only when you choose the Source command or source node's icon in the explorer. This table shows all parameters contained in the action; click on a row to select it.
Edit Source Data |
Lets you edit the source data for the selected items. This button is used only for function curves and constraints. To edit source expressions, type directly in the Value column.
You cannot directly edit the action source data in a compound action source. |
Toggle Activeness |
Toggles the activeness of the selected parameters. This is equivalent to clicking in the Active column of the corresponding rows. |
Remove Item |
Removes the selected items from the action source. |
Reload |
Reloads any offloaded external action source (see Storage below). |
Source |
Item number for each parameter in the source. |
Type |
The type of animation on the parameter: Fcv: function curve (keys) Exp: expression Cns: constraint CMP: items in a compound action clip |
Active |
Whether the parameter is active. You can toggle individual parameters on and off. This affects any new clips based on the source action. Note that this does not affect any existing clips. To toggle parameters on and off in an existing clip, use the Instanced Action Property Editor. |
Item Name |
The name of the affected parameter. |
Value |
The value of the parameter. For example, if a parameter is driven by an expression, the expression is displayed here and you can edit the value directly in this box. If a parameter is driven by a function curve, this box is blank. If the parameter is in a compound action clip, compound item is indicated. |
Partial Fcurves Offloaded Ranges
If you select Partially Offloaded from the Action Status list (below), you can specify the frames that you want to offload. The syntax is Start,End;. You could specify any number of frame ranges (separated by semicolons) in this text box; for example: 1,10;30-40;80,100
You can save action sources to a file (external action sources) only if the original animation data stored in the source is from function curves (but not including quaternion rotation fcurves). Action sources created from expressions or constraints are not supported by the .xsi file format.
For more information, see Creating External Action Sources.
These options are not supported for animation layer sources.
Sets the color of all clips in the mixer that are instantiated (created) from this source.
Click the color chip and select a color from the color editor. When you click the Close button in the color editor, all clips that are instances of this source change to this color.
For general information about setting colors, see Defining Color Properties.
Lets you edit the properties for action, compound action, or animation layer sources.
The following parameters appear when you do any of the following:
Then click the tab with the source's name in the property editor that appears.
Name |
Name of the action, compound action, or layer source. If you change this name, both the source and clip names are then changed. |
Storage |
Select a file format from this list. These are the same as found in the Storage options above. This is not supported for layer sources. |
File Name |
Enter a file name and path in which to save an external action source. This is the same as the File parameter above. This is not supported for layer sources. |
Status |
Current load state of the external action source. These are the same as found in the Action Status options above. This is not supported for layer sources. |
Offloaded Frame Ranges |
Current load state of the external action source. This is the same as the Partial Fcurves Offloaded Ranges parameter above. This is not supported for layer sources. |
Clip Color |
Sets the color of all clips in the mixer that are instantiated (created) from this source. Click the color chip and select a color from the color editor, or drag the color sliders to select a color.
NoteTo share a clip color between sources, drag the color chip from one source property page and drop it on a color chip in another
source property page.
For general information about setting colors, see Defining Color Properties. |
Time Span (in frames) |
The duration of the action, compound action, or layer source in frames (Frame Start and Frame End). |
