What's New in Showcase 2012

Python Versions

The Python versions have been updated in Showcase 2012.

• Python version 2.6.5 is distributed in the 32-bit version of Showcase 2012.
• Python version 2.6.2 is distributed in the 64-bit version of Showcase 2012.

Command Line Startup Flags

The command line arguments to Showcase have been modified. For the complete set of command line arguments, consult the Startup Flags topic.

• The -b and -borderless flags have been added to start Showcase without window borders, and with the HUD disabled.
• Showcase "headless" mode (-he, -headless), which only responds to web server inputs, can also be started using the -k and -kiosk flags.
• The -p or -present flags have been replaced by -fu and -fullscreen. These flags start Showcase in full screen mode, with the HUD disabled.
• The -li [string] and -license [string] flags have replaced the -no and -notProfessionalLicense flags.
• The -n and -noplugins flag has been added to force Showcase not to load any add-ins at startup.
• The -st [string] and -style [string] flags have been added to start Showcase with a specific visual style. Valid options are those used by the STYLES_EXECUTE message: RealisticNS, RTAS, NPRTech, etc.
• The -r and -raytracing flags have been added to enable Ray Tracing at startup. This is equivalent to -style RTAS

Environment Variables

The default value of the Showcase_WEB_ROOT environment variable has changed from C:\ShowcaseWebRoot to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Autodesk Showcase 2012\WebRoot

Message Changes
