System requirements

Autodesk Showcase is supported on Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 operating systems. Both 32- and 64-bit versions are supported.

Autodesk Showcase requires certain available hardware to be able to run and perform effectively. If your computer system does not meet these specifications and requirements, your experience with the software may not be optimal.

Windows 7 Themes

Some of the visual desktop themes supported by Microsoft Windows 7 can cause performance degradations for interactive applications such as Showcase. For this reason, Showcase disables these visual themes when started. This typically causes the desktop theme to be changed to the "Windows Basic" theme for the duration of the Showcase session.

You can disable this behavior at Showcase startup by loading the add-in named DisableThemeSwitch.py. Showcase must be restarted after loading this add-in. When this add-in is active some workflows may cause Showcase to become somewhat unresponsive. See Install plug-ins.

Showcase window size

Autodesk recommends setting the Showcase application window size to at least 1024 x 768 pixels. Performance will be fine at sizes smaller than this, but interface elements might overlap.
