You can now delete selected faces from the base level of a mesh by pressing Delete or selecting Edit > Delete Selected.
Delete Object now works on multiple selected objects. See Delete objects.
Delete any materials that are no longer used in your scene. See Delete materials.
The Frame Selection function (hotkey: A) is now available from the Display menu. Select Display > Frame Selection to frame a selected object in the 3D View. If no objects are selected, Frame Selection frames all objects in the scene. This can be particularly useful if you're actively manipulating the camera view and temporarily
or unintentionally lose sight of your model in the scene.
You can now select and import PTEX files as paint layers using Import Layer and Import Layer Mask in the Paint Layers window. See Import PTEX files.
The Layers window window now displays the name of the active object (for both Paint and Sculpt display modes), making it clearer which object includes the displayed layers.
A new Render Selected preference (under the Render heading in the Preferences window) lets you set whether selected faces display with a soft falloff.
A new Flood From Camera button in the Paint Tools properties lets you flood color to all parts of the texture map that are visible to the camera. is available for all Paint Tools except Clone, Blur, and Dry Brush.
A new Mesh Renderers preference lets you select from a list of your own rendering plug-ins to render the current mesh.
Rename materials and objects more easily with the new Name field that displays at the top of the Properties window for materials and many other objects.
