In the Preferences window, you can choose whether the object poses you create use the default keying group or active keying group.

Note

When you create character poses, the keying group will always default to “Full Body”. But when you paste character poses, the keying group used will always be the active keying group. The choice between the “active” or “default” keying group setting applies to the creation of object poses.

The following table describes the Object Animation preference settings.

Pose Controls settings Description
Use Default Keying Group This applies to object pose creation. The default keying group for object-pose creation is always, “TR” for translation and rotation channels.
Use Active Keying Group This also applied to object pose creation—the keying group selected in the Key Controls window will always be considered the “active” keying group when creating an object pose.
