Save and share Grease Pencil sketches

Grease Pencil sketches are automatically saved as image files in your default project directory when you save a scene.

You can find Grease Pencil images in the following locations, sorted into folders based on the scene file name.

• (Windows) ..\Documents\maya\projects\default\sourceimages\3dPaintTextures\[sceneFileName]
• (Mac OS X) ../Documents/maya/projects/default/3dPaintTextures[sceneFileName]
• (Linux) ../home/username/maya/projects/default/default/3dPaintTextures[sceneFileName]

If you want to save Grease Pencil images to be loaded on another machine, you need to save the scene as an archive file so that the entire project structure is saved.

To save and share Grease Pencil images

1. Save your scene using File > Archive Scene.
2. On another machine, open the archived scene.

   Maya loads the scene, including the Grease Pencil images at the assigned frames.
