nCloth workflow

The following procedure outlines a typical user workflow for creating an nCloth garment for a character. While performing these steps, you should play back your simulation so that you can see the results of your adjustments.

  1. Make your character’s clothing nCloth.
  2. Make your character an nCloth or passive collision object.
  3. Constrain the nCloth clothing to itself and its character.
  4. Adjust your nCloth clothing’s properties to achieve the appearance and behavior you desire. You can also edit your nCloth’s properties in a nonlinear manner by painting texture or vertex property maps.
  5. (Optional) Create external, non-nCloth dynamic forces to influence your nCloth’s behavior.
  6. (Optional) Cache your nCloth.
  7. (Optional) Edit, merge, and blend your nCloth caches.
