An example of an asymmetric model is a figure
that is posed with one arm raised above its head, while the other
is lowered. In these sculpting situations you need to explicitly
define an axis of symmetry.
NoteFor best results,
you may want to create a new layer for your sculpting work when
planning to use layer symmetry. You can merge the two layers when
you are finished.
Set the topological axis you want the
symmetry to occur across before you perform any sculpting. For more
information, see
Set a topological axis.
Perform any sculpting on one half of
the model.
In the Layers menu,
select Layer > Mirror and select Tangent to
specify that you want the mirror copy to occur across the topological
axis you previously set.
