The following instructions pertain only to Mudbox 2009 versions using the product key 498A1. Verify that product key 498A1 appears on the back of your DVD (or is the product key provided when you downloaded Mudbox 2009 from the Autodesk online store).

You must have a software license to run Mudbox. A license is a coded record of your software purchase. The license resides in a license file on your machine or a license server machine. Whenever a Mudbox session is launched, the license management software, FLEXlm, searches the license file to check out a license for that session.
