About Project Compatibility

In a mixed environment, be aware of case-sensitivity. On Linux®, files named Test and test are two different files. On a Mac®, they are identical; Linux is case-sensitive, while the Mac is not.

In practice, this means that a project created on a Linux workstation might not be compatible on the Mac. For example, an Action setup created in Flame® containing two nodes; one named NODE and another named Node. On a Linux workstation, this is not an issue.

However, if you try to import that project into a Smoke for Mac OS X, the two nodes are seen as the same. This can create problems such as project corruption.

If you are working in a mixed environment, implement good formatting practices, such as always using lowercase letters.
