Changing the Timing of a Timewarp

NoteNot applicable to Backdraft Conform.

Edit the timing curve in the Timewarp Editor to adjust the timing of the timewarp. You can adjust the speed of the timewarp independently of its duration. For example, if you are satisfied with the duration of your edit and want to modify the speed of the element without changing the overall duration of your clip, adjust the timing curve without changing the position of the first and last keyframes.

The previous and next transition hotkeys Z and X are disabled in the Timewarp Editor. To go to the in point and out point, or the previous or next keyframes, use the arrow buttons in the keyframe editing shortcuts area.

The timewarp speed updates dynamically as you edit. Use the positioner to scrub the timewarp and see the results of your edits or click the button in the Player.

Mix and trail values do not update dynamically.

To adjust the playback rate of the timewarp using the speed curve:

  1. From the Timewarp Editor, select the Speed channel.
  2. Change the value of the Speed channel to a constant value across the entire timewarp.
NoteAnimating the speed value creates a variable timewarp.
