Exporting objects in your scene

 
 
 

Just as you can import references from external files into your scene, you can also export objects in your scene to external files and keep them as references.

To export the willow tree

  1. In the Outliner, -click willow1MeshGroup and select Reference > Export Selection As Reference > from the menu that appears.

    The Export Selection As Reference Options window appears.

  2. Select Edit > Reset Settings.
  3. In the General Options section, select mayaAscii from the File type list.
  4. Click Export Selection As Reference.

    The File Browser appears.

  5. Enter the name tree and click Export Selection As Reference.

    If you check the Outliner, you can see a new reference node entry called treeRN. The main scene is now referencing the tree from an external file, just like your zombies.
