Mirror a sculpt layer on a symmetrical model

An example of a symmetrically posed model is one in which the features and layout of the polygon mesh on one half identically match those on the opposite half.

Tip Create a new layer for your sculpting work when planning to use layer symmetry. You can merge the two layers when you are finished.
  1. Sculpt on one half of the model.
  2. Select faces on that half of the model. (See Select and move items.)
  3. In the Sculpt Layers window, select > Mirror Layer.

The sculpting on the half of the model you selected appears on the opposite side.
