Blur detail in painted textures

The Blur brush (hotkey: Shift) softens detail in the areas you stroke and is ideal for directly retouching localized regions on your painted 3D models.

To blur detail

  1. In the Paint Layers window, select the paint layer where you want to apply some localized blur.
  2. In the Paint Tools tray, select the Blur tool (hotkey: Shift).
  3. Stroke across the painted texture in the region you want to blur/soften.

Paint is blurred in the areas you stroke. Adjust the Blur Radius and Strength properties to control the amount of blur produced.

NoteThe Blur and Clone brushes ignore any active stencil as you paint. (See also Paint using stencil projection.)
