To access these options, select Edit > Edit Stencil. (If you have no stencil selected for editing in the Stencils tray, the Create New Stencil window opens instead.)

As long as this window displays, Mudbox is in stencil editing mode, and any painting or sculpting is applied to the stencil.

Display
Lets you set how you want the stencil to display as you edit. Options include:
  • Monochrome (black and white, with darker areas more transparent)

  • Transparent color

  • Opaque color

Save As
Lets you give the modified stencil a new name and specify whether you want it added to the Stencil tray.
Done
Closes stencil editing mode without saving changes. The selected stencil continues to display and you can apply it to your model. If you decide to save the stencil later, you can reopen the Edit this stencil window (Edit > Edit Stencil).
Cancel
Exits stencil editing mode without saving the current stencil.
