nCache > Delete Cache Frame

Deletes single frames or whole frame ranges from the current object’s enabled cache. For example, you can truncate the beginnings or ends of the enabled nCache.

nCache > Delete Cache Frame >

Opens the Delete nCache Frames Options window. This window lets you specify which nCache frames are to be deleted from the current object’s enabled nCache.

Current time

Specifies that the current cache frame is deleted from the current object’s enabled cache.

Start/End

Specifies that the range of cached frames from the Start delete frame to the End delete frame is deleted from the current object’s enabled cache.

Start delete frame/End delete frame

These fields let you specify a start and end time for the range of frames you want to delete.

Default renaming of removed frames

Specifies that the deleted frames are saved as new and separate nCache files on disk and are renamed using the prefix backup. For example, if you delete frame 20 from the Cape1 nCloth cache, then frame 20 is saved to disk as backup_Cape1.mc and a new .xml description file is generated for the deleted cache frame.

Custom renaming of removed frames

Specifies that the deleted frames are saved as new and separate nCache files on disk using the custom name specified in the Custom renaming of removed frames field. For example, if the custom name you specify is deleted20Cape1 and you delete frame 20 from the Cape1 nCloth cache, then frame 20 is saved to disk as deleted20Cape1.mc and a new .xml description file is generated for the deleted cache frame.

Delete backup files

When on, the cache frames you want to delete are also deleted from their nCache files on disk. The deletion is permanent, and can not be undone by Edit > Undo or Ctrl+z.
