Mesh > Booleans

The following boolean operations let you combine polygon meshes to create a new shape.

Union
Combines the volume of the meshes you select.
Difference
Subtracts the volume(s) of the second (and subsequent) selected mesh(es) from the first.
NoteYou can extract multiple meshes from your first selection in one Difference operation.
Intersection
Leaves only the shared volume of the two meshes.

Use legacy Boolean algorithm

When enabled, performs the selected boolean operation using the legacy boolean algorithm. See Legacy Boolean algorithm limitations.

NoteScenes with boolean nodes that were created using Maya 2014 or earlier releases automatically use Maya's legacy boolean algorithm.
