Edit motion trail properties

 
 
 

By default, motion trails display as red lines with white keyframes and pink timing beads. You can edit these colors and other display properties using the Channel Box or Attribute Editor.

NoteWhen visible, tangents display in the same color as they are set to display in the Graph Editor.

To edit motion trail properties

  1. Do one of the following to display the motion trail attributes:
    • Select the motion trail or any key displaying on the motion trail then select the motionTrailnHandleShape object in the Attribute Editor or Channel Box.
    • Right-click the motion trail and select motionTrailnHandle from the menu that appears.

    All motion trail color attributes display under the heading MotionTrailShape Attributes.

  2. Adjust the properties as required.
To... Edit property
Change the color of the motion trail Trail Color
Change the color of the motion trail keyframes Keyframe Color
Change the color of the timing beads Bead Color
Display frame numbers per keyframe Show Frames
Change the thickness of the motion trail Trail Thickness (default 1)
Change the size of keyframes on the trail Keyframe Size (default 1)
Toggle X-Ray display of trail with shaded objects Xray Draw
