Detach nCache files

To detach all nCache files

1. Select the object from which you want to detach all of its nCache files.
2. Depending on the object type, do one of the following:
   • For Nucleus objects, in the nDynamics menu set, select nCache > Delete Cache > .
   • For fluid objects, in the Dynamics menu set, select Fluid nCache > Delete Cache> .

   The Delete nCache Options or Delete Fluid Cache Options window appears.

3. Turn on Keep Files and then click Delete or Apply.

   All the selected object’s Attribute Editor cache tabs, nodes, and clips are deleted and their corresponding cache files on disk are detached from the object.

To detach single or multiple nCache files

1. Select the object from which you want to detach nCache files.
2. Depending on the object type, do one of the following:
   • For Nucleus objects, in the nDynamics menu set, select nCache > Delete Cache > .
   • For fluid objects, in the Dynamics menu set, select Fluid nCache > Delete Cache> .

   The Delete nCache Options or Delete Fluid Cache Options window appears.

3. Turn on Keep Files.
4. In the Select caches to delete list, do one of the following:
   • the name of the single nCache you want to detach from your object.
   • - the names of the multiple nCaches you want to detach from your object.
5. Click Delete or Apply.

   The selected nCaches’ Attribute Editor tabs, nodes, and clips are deleted and their associated cache files on disk are detached from their object and retained on disk.
