Modifying the Clip History of Clips Containing Multiple Effects
 
 
 

For clips created using one or more effects or operations, you may need to modify settings applied in the various modules and soft effects in the clip history. You access the original sources and effects settings from the clip history of the Record Area clip. You can expand the clip history in the Record Area or in a soft effect editor.

Viewing Clip History of Record Area Clips and Elements in the Timeline

In the Record Area, you can expand and view the clip history from History or Large History view.

To view the clip history of Record Area clips and elements in the timeline:

  1. Select a clip or element with history in the Record Area.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select either History (Ctrl+F5) or Large History (Ctrl+Shift+F5) from the View Modes box in the Record Area.
    • Double-click the H icon on the collapsed clip in the Record Area.
  3. To switch between History and Large History view, hold Ctrl and swipe the bar below the Record Area.
  4. Select Record Clip from the Source/Record History box.

    The clip history appears in the Record Area.

  5. Select an option from the History View box.
    Select: To view:
    Schematic view Nodes that represent the operations performed on the clip.
    List view A list of the operations performed on the clip.

Viewing Clip History in Soft Effect Editors

In soft effect editors, you view the clip history of the current element using the History button. You can view clip history as a list or schematic.

You can use the clip history in soft effect editors to move between soft effects and even into regular modules. If you enter a module from a soft effects clip history view, you are returned to the same soft effect editor when you exit the module.

To expand the clip history in a soft effect editor:

  1. Load a clip with clip history into a soft effect editor.
  2. In the soft effect editor, click History (Ctrl+F5).

    The clip history appears with the soft effect selected.

Modifying Clip History in Modules or Soft Effect Editors

You can load a clip with clip history back into any of the modules or soft effect editors that you used to process the clip. After you modify settings, you can either commit or discard your changes when you exit the module.

To modify clip history:

  1. Expand the clip history of a clip in the soft effect editor or the Record Area.
  2. Enter a module or soft effect editor that supports clip history by doing one of the following:
    In: Do the following:
    Schematic view Double-click a node to open the corresponding module or soft effect.
    List view Double-click an entry to open the corresponding module or soft effect.
  3. Edit the settings as needed.
  4. If you loaded the clip into a module, do one of the following:
    • To save your changes, select Return (Tilde) from the Exit Options box.
    • To exit without saving your changes, select Cancel (Ctrl+Tilde) from the Exit Options box, and then confirm.
  5. If you loaded the clip into a soft effect editor, click Exit.
