The following directories are used for fonts.

| /usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1 | Contains the outline files for Adobe Postscript Type 1 fonts installed with the system or supplied by Autodesk. These files have the extension .pfb. |
| /usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1 | Contains the Adobe font metrics (AFM) file for Adobe Postscript Type 1 fonts installed with the system or supplied by Autodesk. These files have the extension .afm. |
| /usr/discreet/font | Contains TrueType (.ttf) files. |
| Other directories | Can be used to store supported fonts as desired, and are loaded into Smoke using the font file browser. |
