Using
            the more complete resize settings in Resize, or the Resize nodes in Batch,
            you have a dynamic preview from which to view results while setting
            the resize settings.
         
         In the first procedure,
            extract a 4:3 cutout from a 16:9 clip. In the second procedure,
            extract a custom cutout from a source clip.
         
         To extract a 4:3 cutout from a 16:9 clip:
         
         
            - Access
               the Resize menu for a 16:9 clip from the A/V Tools, in Batch, or
               from soft effects if you are working on the timeline.
            
- Click the Source button next to the Clip
               label to make the crop box the same size as the source frame.
            
- Make sure Regen is enabled to get dynamic
               visual feedback of the result clip in the viewport on the right.

- From the Resolution Presets box, select
               the 4:3 resolution to which you want to resize the source.
            
- Make sure Keep Aspect is enabled.
            
- From the Fit Method box, select Crop
               Edges.
            
- Depending on the source and destination
               resolutions, select a scan mode from the Scan Mode box. 
            
- Process the result.
            
To extract a custom cutout from a source
            clip:
         
         
            - Access
               the Resize menu for a 16:9 clip from the A/V Tools, in Batch, or
               from soft effects if you are working on the timeline.
            
- Make
               sure Regen is enabled to get dynamic visual feedback of the result clip
               in the viewport on the right. See 
                        Getting Dynamic Feedback in Result View.
            
- From the Resolution Presets box, select
               the 4:3 resolution to which you want to resize the source.
            
- Click the Destination button next to
               the Clip label to make the crop box the same size as the destination
               frame.
               By default, the crop
                  box is centred.
                
- To make an off-centre cutout, drag the
               crop box to another position.
            
- From the Fit Method box, select Centre/Crop.
            
- Depending on the source and destination
               resolutions, select a scan mode from the Scan Mode box.
            
- Process the result.
