Enable the HSDL keywords that correspond to the HSDL device you want to work with.

To enable HSDL keywords:

1. In a command shell, type dlcfg to open the software initialization configuration file in a text editor.
2. Scroll down to the VTR KEYWORD section.

   Some HSDL devices are listed at the bottom.

3. Uncomment the keywords for the HSDL devices that you want to enable.
4. If necessary, edit the serial port definition in each line (/dev/tty4d<port#>) to make sure it corresponds with the serial port that you want to use for RS-422 remote control of the HSDL device.
5. Save the file and exit.

   You are now ready to start the application.
