You can name clips using the Name button or the Name hotkey.

To name a clip using the Name button:

1. From the Desktop, click Name.

   
   

2. With the red arrow cursor, select the clip that you want to name.
3. To clear the current contents of the Name field, press Esc.
4. Enter a name for the clip and then press Enter.

   The new name appears on the clip proxy, provided this display option is enabled. See General Preferences.

To name a clip using the Name hotkey:

1. Hold the cursor over the clip that you want to rename.
2. Press N.

   The on-screen keyboard appears.

3. Type a name for the clip and then press Enter.
