You can commit a clip with a history, or a clip segment with a history just as you would any other clip. When doing so, you delete the clip history without removing the clip or segment's soft properties.

To commit a clip's history:

1. In the Main menu, click Editing.
2. Click Commit, and then select History from the Commit Type box.

   NoteYou can also commit using the Clip option. This commits both the history and the edits.
3. From the Commit Mode box, select whether you want to commit a clip, reel, or the entire Desktop.
4. Click the clip with history that you want to commit.

   The clip's history is committed.
