VTR Emulation

VTR Emulation Workflow
About VTR Emulation
You can use Smoke to emulate a
VTR for both input and output in real time. When configured to emulate
a VTR, Smoke can be controlled, using an RS-422 interface,
by a third-party application or device allowing you to:
- Load
a clip into the Output Clip menu, enable an emulator and then use
another application or device capable of capturing from a VTR to
capture the clip.
- Enable
an emulator in the Input Clip menu and then use another application
or device capable of outputting to a VTR to output clips to the Smoke workstation.
In all cases, you control the emulator from
the application or device that treats Smoke as a VTR device.
