Use Batch to assemble a series of tasks, such as colour correction, keying, and multilayer composites with animation, where the result of each task serves as the source for the next one.
Working in Batch requires the building of a process tree. Clips and nodes form the fundamental structure of a Batch process tree. The Batch module is designed to facilitate inter-module workflow and quicken interactivity as you create effects.
Each task—colour correction, keying, compositing—is represented as a node in Batch, which you arrange in the process tree. By building a process tree of nodes and clips, you eliminate the waiting time required for EditDesk renders and you save disk space since these intermediate results are not stored.
A Universal Channel Editor allows you to change parameters for any module at any time. A timeline makes editing functions, transitions, and timewarps available directly in Batch. Multiple view functions allow you to see changes in-context, making experimentation easier. Also, proxy processing increases performance when working with high-resolution footage by replacing it with a low-resolution version.
Any clip in Batch can be selected for editing in the Batch schematic. You can make additional changes to the individual timeline of a clip, and create and update Batch FX on the Batch timeline.
The Batch Module is available only in Smoke 2K.
