The following typical
workflow illustrates how OMF files are used to move timeline metadata
and audio media between systems at various stages in the post-production
process.
Create an offline editing project using
any Avid® offline
editing application and export an OMF file with included audio media.
Import the OMF file into Flame and
recapture the media.
Finish in Flame and perform any
sound mixing.
If you want to use another audio tool
such as Pro Tools® to
complete the audio mix, then do the following:
Export the final timeline as an OMF file
(with audio media).
Import the new OMF file into Digidesign
Pro Tools® and
complete the audio mix.
From Pro Tools, export the finished audio
as WAV or AIFF.
Import the finished audio into Flame and recombine
it in the final timeline.
From Flame, output to tape or export
to another format.
